Jan. 5
PHS presents Band Geeks — The cast, musicians and crew of BAND GEEKS, recently selected to perform at the State Thespian Conference, will perform the musical one final time at PHS on Tuesday, January 5th at 7:00 p.m. A $5 donation is requested to help cover the costs of 70+ student travel.

Jan. 6
School Bond Information Fair — USD 250 will host an information fair to answer questions regarding the upcoming bond issue on Wednesday, January 6th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Also, tours of the middle school will leave in 15 minute intervals.

SEK NOW Monthly Meeting — The Southeast Kansas chapter of the National Organization for Women (SEK NOW) will meet Wednesday, January 6 at 6:00 p.m. at the Pittsburg Public Library.

Jan. 8
GypsySoul Rottweiler Rescue Adoption EventGypsySoul Rottweiler Rescue is holding an adoption event at Kansasland Tires from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dogs will be available for adoption and donations will be accepted.

Jan. 9
Julian Davis Performs at Root Coffeehouse — Guitarist Julian Davis will perform at Root Coffeehouse on Friday, January 9 from 7 to 9 p.m.

The Jason Kinney Band @ TJ Leland’sThe Jason Kinney Band will be playing Saturday night at TJ Leland’s.

Jan. 11
Nasim Pedrad Tickets Go On Sale — Tickets to Nasim Pedrad’s performance at PSU’s Bicknell Family Center for the Arts go on sale to current PSU students on Monday, Jan. 11 at the university Ticket Office. Tickets prices are $5 for students, Tickets for non-students will go on sale Tuesday, Jan. 19. $10 for PSU faculty/staff and $15 for the general public.

Jan. 12
Audtions for “A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant, and a Prayer” — PSU’s Women’s Studies Club is holding open auditions for “A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant, and a Prayer” on Tuesday, January 12th at 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, January 13th at 7:00 p.m. in Grubbs Hall, room 103. There are parts for people of all genders, ages, body types and cultural backgrounds. Performances take place on February 12th and 13th.

Jan. 13

Jan. 15
Inside Out – Movie Night at The Plaster Center — Pittsburg State University will be showing Disney’s Inside Out FREE to the public at their new Plaster Center on Friday, January 15th from 6:30 to 8:30.

Canadian pianist André Laplante — Canadian pianist André Laplante will be performing at McCray Hall on Friday, January 15th from 7:30 to 9:00. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children and seniors and can be purchased here. Current PSU students get in free with a valid student ID.

Dan Martin @ TJ Leland’sDan Martin, along with special guest Richard Pyle, will play Friday night at TJ Leland’s.

Jan. 16
PSU Choir Tour Pancake Feed — St. Peter’s Episcopal Church is hosting a pancake feed from 8 to 11 to help PSU choir members tour England and Wales in March 2016. A $5 donation is suggested for for the breakfast of pancakes, bacon, sausage, and choice of coffee, juice or milk.

Pittsburg Beer Club Meeting — The Pittsburg Beer Club meets Saturday, January 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Eagles Nest, 250 N. Cayuga, Frontenac, to sample and discuss craft beers.

88er @ TJ Leland’s — Indie rock band 88er will play on Saturday at TJ Leland’s.

Shelden Jamison @ Root Coffeehouse
Shelden Jamison and her father Dennis will be playing at Root Coffeehouse Saturday from 7 – 9 p.m.

Jan. 17
Aaron Lee Tasjan @ Olive Street House ConcertsAaron Lee Tasjan will be stopping by Olive Street on his way back from Texas and playing the world famous Blue Door in OKC. To reserve a seat, click the “Donation” link on the show page at http://www.olivestreethouseconcerts.com. A donation of $12 per seat is suggested for this show. Reservations are required.

Jan. 19

Coloring for Adults @ Pittsburg Public Library — The Pittsburg Public Library invites you to experience coloring for adults on Thursday, January 21st from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Pencils, pens, and coloring sheets will be provided. No sign up is required and refreshments will be served.

Rugged Grace @ TJ Leland’s — Red dirt country folk band Rugged Grace will play Friday, January 22 at TJ Leland’s.

Lunarheadz’ Birthday Celebration @ TJ Leland’s — Indie rock band LunarHeadz will play Saturday, January 23 at TJ Leland’s.
