Feb. 2

Black History Month Gospel Explosion – The Black Student Association will begin the celebration of Black History Monty with a Gospel Explosion, which will be held in the Sharon K. Dean Recital Hall in McCray Hall on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Feb. 3

Movie Night: Mockingjay Part 2 – Gorilla Activities Board will be showing Mockingjay Part 2 in Grubbs Hall, room 109 from 7 to 9 p.m.


Feb. 4

Legislative Town Hall – Join President Steve Scott and Pittsburg State’s Director of Government and Community Relations, Shawn Nacarrato for an update on Kansas’ 2016 legislative session. The event will take place in Ballroom C of the Overman Student Center from 3 to 4 p.m.

Feb. 5

5th Annual KCAC Indoor Track and Field ChampionshipThe KCAC Indoor Track & Field Championship will take place from 2 to 7 p.m. at PSU’s Plaster Center. Tickets range from $3 to $10 and can be purchased here.

Bill & Monica’s Excellent Adventure @ TJ Lelands90’s tribute band BAM will be playing at TJ Lelands.

The Orlando Consort – The Solo and Chamber Music Series presents The Orlando Consort in McCray Hall from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Tickets range from $8 to $12 and can be purchased here.

Feb. 6

5th Annual KCAC Indoor Track and Field Championship
The KCAC Indoor Track & Field Championship will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at PSU’s Plaster Center. Tickets range from $3 to $10 and can be purchased here.

Million Dollar Quartet – The matinee performance of Million Dollar Quartet will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts. Tickets range from $35 to $80 and can be purchased here.

Park Avenue Uprising @ TJ Lelands
– Park Avenue Uprising will perform at 8:00 p.m. at TJ Lelands.

Feb. 9

Pancake Dinner – The 122nd annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church at 306 W. Euclid from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m.  Admission is $5 and includes all you can eat pancakes, sausage, juice, and coffee.

The Elixir of Love – The Southeast Kansas Symphony and the PSU Opera Theater will collaborate to bring this opera production to The Bicknell Family Center of the Arts from 7:30 to 9:15 p.m. Tickets range from $5 to $9 and can be purchased here.

The Vogt Sisters @ Root CoffeehouseThe Vogt Sisters will perform at Root Coffeehouse from 7 to 9 p.m.

The Bends, Magic Johnson, Verbose @ TJ LelandsThe Bends, Magic Johnson, and Verbose will play at TJ Lelands at 9 p.m.

A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant, and A PrayerThis performance to support Safe House and Women Helping Women begins at 7 p.m. in the Governor’s Room of Overman Student Center and will include a silent auction.

Feb. 13

British Regiments – United States Tour 2016
The Band of the Royal Marines and the Pipes, Drums & Highland Dancers of the Scots Guards will perform at The Bicknell Family Center for the Arts from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. Tickets range from $18 to $32 and can be purchased here.

A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant, and A PrayerThis performance to support Safe House and Women Helping Women begins at 7:00 p.m. at TJ Leland’s.

Zero 2 Panic @ TJ Leland’s – This ska band’s first show of the year will be at TJ Leland’s starting at 10:30 p.m.

PSU Choir Dinner – The Fairest Isle: The Musical Traditions of England and Wales
– This dinner and performance supports PSU’s choir trip to England and Wales and will be held in the Overman Student Center from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $30 and advance reservations are required. Call Susan Marchant at 620-235-4467 for reservations.

SEK Humane Society Chili Dinner
– SEK Humane Society’s annual chili dinner fundraiser will be held Sunday, February 21st from 11am-2pm in the lower level of the Pittsburg Memorial Auditorium. Tickets are $7 and include chili (vegetarian option available), desert, and a drink.
